PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Thank you for including P-TECH at Dunbar High School in your high school search!  The journey of discovery is an exciting time for you and your family.  We hope you will use the admission process to learn about the educational opportunities available and the kind of school community that fits you best.

Use our website to learn about the P-TECH 9-14 School Model which was created by IBM.  This model heavily relies on the collaboration of the school, community college, and business partners to work as “one body” to ensure that students have every opportunity to graduate with an associate degree in four – six year and be employable.  You will also find the core tenants of the P-TECH model which is the foundation of every P-TECH program.

What are the benefits of becoming a P-TECH Healthcare Student?

• Begin accumulating college credit as early as 10th grade.

• Inherit an academic support system of an academic liaison, college liaison, professional mentor, personal mentor (upon request) and coming soon a life coach, that works closely with you to design and frequently monitor your AA Degree Roadmap of Success.

•  Participate in a paid 6-week Internship with one of our partners; Johns Hopkin University, The University of MD, Kaiser Permamentae.

• Upon attaining your AA degree, be first in line to interview for a career at one (or all) of our partner sites.

It is possible that you can achieve all of this before your 21st birthday! What an amazing opportunity. Check our Important Dates and Deadline page to learn about Open House Dates and other upcoming admission items.

We understand that this is a lot to ask of a student your age, but trust us when we say that the sacrifice will be worth the reward!

We look forward to getting to know you better.
